Video statement on USAID climate change partnerships in North Macedonia In North Macedonia, USAID is partnering with the government to increase investment in renewable energy sources and improve energy efficiency to reduce consumption and greenhouse gas emissions —all efforts to combat climate change. USAID also supports reforms and legislation to align the country with EU energy and climate change regulations, enabling further investments and helping North Macedonia meet its renewable energy and efficiency targets. We are also excited about our partnership with the Solar Macedonia Association to combat climate change by increasing the use of renewable energy sources. Together, we have enabled sustainable growth of the solar industry here by promoting domestic production of solar equipment and helping develop a qualified local workforce as we train installers of different types of solar energy systems. USAID and North Macedonia are working hard for a more diverse and sustainable energy mix and helping fight pollution and climate change for a brighter future.
