The Macedonian Solar Association realized that there is a need for information, literature and alternative ways of learning the Macedonian language about solar technology. For that reason he created a course PV/PVT/T installation training programme – Training program for the installation of Photovoltaic/Photo-Thermal/Thermal solar systems. The course is a product of cooperation of Solar Macedonia with UNDP and Future Skills Center from Tetovo. It is attached to the learning platform skills4future.mk.

The course is simple, interesting and modern way of enriching knowledge about solar technology. It is intended for students, designers, engineers and all active stakeholders who support the use of renewable energy sources. It is free and available to anyone who is interested.

The aim of the course is to familiarize the readers with the basics of dimensioning, installation and service of photovoltaic/photo-thermal/thermal solar systems. It is recommended that candidates have a minimum technical knowledge in the field of solar technology in order to successfully follow the course.

The course is composed of 9 modules:

• Module 1: Basic theoretical knowledge of photovoltaic and photo-thermal systems;
• Module 2: Safety measures during the installation of a solar system;
• Module 3: Types of roof structures for mounting a solar system;
• Module 4: Preparation of solar system before installation;
• Module 5: Components of pumped and thermosyphon solar thermal systems;
• Module 6: Sizing using tables, equipment selection and maintenance;
• Module 7: Dimensioning of solar systems using software;
• Module 8: Planning and dimensioning of photovoltaic photo-thermal solar systems;
• Module 9: Sizing pumped or thermosyphon solar systems.

The educational material consists of short introductory videos and accompanying PDF documents. After completing each module there is a set of questions to be answered. The criterion for successfully passing each module is a minimum 60% correctly answered questions. When all modules are completed, the system generates a certificate for successful completion of the course.
