The "Solar energy skills boost" project aims to help solar companies and potential staff to improve their skills, productivity and employability.
Three activities are included within the project:

Training for thermal designers, photovoltaic and photo/thermal solar systems-TRNSYS – Unlike most design software that is only intended for one type of solar system, TRNSYS contains a combination of tools for designing all three types of solar systems. Solar Macedonia will procure the software and prepare a manual for its use. Within the framework of the project, it is planned to hold a training of 10 companies or individuals, who have 2 years of experience in the field of energy/renewable energy sources and at least 3 relevant projects. further, companies managed by women and female designers will have a special incentive to participate. The training will be conducted in March and May 2024 year.

Solar fair – At the last organized Solar Fair 2023 they took part 24 exhibitors from 4 states. Exhibitors included solar equipment manufacturers and dealers such as: photovoltaic collectors, thermal collectors, accumulator batteries, heat pumps, photo/thermal collectors, lightning protection, heating/cooling/ventilation systems, copper fitting for thermal systems, inverters, solar dryers, air collectors, electric bikes and electric chargers, structures for mounting solar collectors and solar water heaters. With experience gathered from previous fairs, proposals from companies and analysis of responses to their needs, Solar Macedonia will also organize a Solar Fair 2024.

– Solar Conference – This event will prove beneficial to all types of members: editor, designers, professori and etc.. Information about the latest technology will be available at the conference (presented by an international and domestic panelist from private companies) and information on energy efficiency credit lines (presented by GEFF, commercial banks). The conference will be held on 14 December 2023 year.

The project is led by the Association for Solar Energy "Solar Macedonia", and is financially supported by USAID within the framework of Jump Start grants, implemented by Consulting for strategic development.
