Despite the extremely favorable climatic conditions for using solar radiation in our country, which are far better than almost all European countries, the use of solar energy in our country is among the lowest in Europe. The most efficient and environmentally friendly way to obtain heat and electricity without polluting the environment and reducing CO2 is through the use of solar thermal, photo/thermal or photovoltaic systems.

The active involvement of households and their encouragement to install photovoltaic or photo-thermal systems on roof surfaces is key in the whole process of civil energy., reducing energy poverty, as well as democratization of the entire energy transition process. Given that the Republic of North Macedonia is at the beginning of the implementation of the energy transition, the goal is to give clear recommendations that will directly affect the increased implementation of renewable energy sources by citizens. Therefore, Solar Macedonia together with Eco Awareness and the Center for Environmental Research and Information through the NDI Program for Anti-corruption Support of Civil Society, they will announce "Proposed recommendations for the introduction of support for households that will encourage the installation of photovoltaics.", photo-thermal and thermal systems".

By introducing the category of electricity market participants "consumer-producer", which also includes households, in addition to saving electricity and money in the household, that is, production of electricity for own needs, a number of other greater advantages are also enabled. In this way, the need to produce electricity from fossil fuels is reduced, resulting in improved air quality, climate change mitigation and environmental protection, and thus participation in the energy transition of our country towards renewable energy sources. The production of energy from renewable sources, in a situation where there is a high demand for energy on the market and whose prices on the international market are breaking records, helps our country's power system become more stable, the need to import electricity decreases, with which we directly help the economy of our country.
