In the Hydrometeorological Administration put in use solar test center, laboratory which will test the quality of solar collectors, the first project of its kind in the Balkans.
The investment is worth it 300.000 Euros and was realized for three years as part of the bilateral cooperation between the governments of Macedonia and Austria.
– Solar technologies are changing the way energy is provided, reduce our fuel dependence, improve air quality and reduce greenhouse gas emissions. The development of the solar industry also stimulates the economy by creating jobs in solar production and installation, said the Minister of Agriculture, forestry and water economy Aco Spasenoski before the opening of the laboratory.
Spasenoski stressed that the Solar Test Center will have a commercial character, that is, it will charge for its services, not only from domestic users but also from those in the region.
Austrian Ambassador to Macedonia Alois Crowd emphasizes that the use of renewable energy sources is of particular importance today, especially due to the current energy crisis. He said that Macedonia, as a candidate country for membership in the European Union, from this aspect, must meet European standards.
– Macedonia must and we are confident that it can reach high European standards in terms of solar energy use and at the same time increase energy independence, and thus improve environmental standards, said Crowd.
