Within the project "INOFIN", An innovative financial model to support the transition to renewable energy sources, a final promotion event was held for the installed prototype of photovoltaic and thermal panels, which was placed on the roof of the kindergarten "Goce Delchev" in the municipality of Ilinden.

The promotion took place today, while the mayor Aleksandar Georgievski together with representatives from Smart App, Association Solar Macedonia, presented the obtained results.

-Through this first prototype of a combined system of solar and thermal panels placed on the roof of the kindergarten "Goce Delchev" in the municipality of Ilinden, we orient ourselves better tomorrow, leaving an example to the little ones. We were really happy to be able to contribute to saving and reducing electricity costs, through the "INOFIN" project. By placing the panels together in this nursery, we help with partial supply of electricity needed for water heating. Sometimes a little, it means a lot to someone. Step by step, together we hope to succeed in improving the sources of electricity and protecting nature and future generations, said the mayor Aleksandar Georgievski.

SmartApp – The Laboratory for Social Innovation, with financial support from the European Institute of Innovation and Technology (EIT Climate-KIC) and in partnership with CLICK, Association Solar Macedonia, Korimako, The Energy Council of the Island of Gran Canaria and the Municipality of Ilinden, successfully conducted three workshops in which good practices were exchanged from implementing a financial model for collective financing during the transition of communities to renewable energy sources and a proposal for financial models designed in accordance with the regulations of our country and although in a short term was created, we also managed to secure the first prototype.

-We want through the setup of this prototype, to show the institutions that through a participatory approach with the participation of all stakeholders, innovative solutions can emerge that are applicable locally, micro level. Together, much greater results can be achieved that will set an excellent example for young people, stated by Association Solar Macedonia InoFin - The innovative financial model to support the transition to renewable energy sources is a project implemented by the non-governmental organization, SmartAP – Laboratory for Social Innovations Skopje, with financial support from European Institute of Innovation and Technology (EIT Climate-KIC) and in partnership with CLICK (Križevci climate innovation laboratory / Krizevac Laboratory for Climate Innovation, Croatia), Association Solar Macedonia, Korimako (Slovenia), Gran Canaria Island Energy Council (Island Energy Council of Gran Canaria) and municipality of Ilinden.
