The Solar Energy Association "Solar Macedonia" today awarded certificates to the 20 candidates who successfully completed the training for contractors of renewable energy systems.
-Despite the favorable natural conditions, Solar energy utilization in Northern Macedonia is at an unenviable level in Europe and we still face an insufficient number of professional solar system installers. We organized this training for that very purpose - to achieve maximum efficiency of the installed solar systems through their proper installation, statement of prof. Dr. Ilija Nasov , President of "Solar Macedonia" after the awarding of certificates .
USAID Representative, Erik Janovski, spoke about the benefits of investing in renewable energy sources and stressed that such investments are a prerequisite for achieving sustainable economic development.
-Over the past two decades, USAID supported the reforms in the energy sector in the country, helping the diversification of energy sources and the development of the internal energy market, as well as integration with regional markets in order to ensure energy security. All these activities enabled the state to meet many of the requirements of the Energy Community, thus better prepared to join the European single energy market, said Janovski in his welcome speech.
Deputy Prime Minister for Economic Affairs Fatmir Bytyqi stressed the commitment of the Government to improve the current situation in the use of solar energy and noted that in the coming period the obligations under the Paris Agreement on Climate Change will be sought., EU directives and other documents to be included in the country as much as possible.
"Solar Macedonia" organized the training for solar systems as part of the initiative "Strengthening the solar sector through training, Performance at fairs and lobbying activities "supported by the USAID Business Ecosystem Development Project. After holding two pilot trainings in 2019 year, The training program was verified by the Ministry of Education and Science and the Center for Adult Education in 2020 year. The first verified training held in December 2020 - January 2021 year successfully completed 20 candidates
